Ruth Lapioli Merriman is the manager of the International Research Consultation Unit in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
She holds a BA in English and a Masters in Library and Information Science from BYU. She has worked in the Family History department for over 25 years. Ruth is also accredited in Italian Research with ICAPGen. She has lectured at BYU, ICAPGen, numerous family history expos and other conferences, including the IV Colloquio Internazionale di Genealogia in Bologna, Italy.

She and her husband are the parents of four sons and two lovely daughters-in-law, and are just now experiencing the pangs of being empty nesters. She is a terminal genealogist and hopes to infect all those with whom she comes in contact.
